ABOUT US

A window to the world of heritage craftsmanship, OMAĜO trades in eclectic objects for homes that exude meaning and intentional beauty.

Who we are

OMAĜO is an homage to creation. It was born out of a desire to promote exquisite craftsmanship, preserve the heritage of ancient techniques, transmit ancestral knowledge and help communities thrive in full respect of their way of life and surrounding nature.

Years of work and travel to close and distant lands, where ideas and hopes, illusions and disillusions blended together, inspired us to create OMAĜO. A sisterly bond brought it into being.

We search for objects that make true homes, objects that reflect the artisan’s seek for perfect creation and that touch of heavens that holds us in awe. The spiritual and material often come together in the objects OMAĜO brings to you; through forms, symbols and colours our artisans transmit not only beauty but also ancestral cosmologies.

What motivates us

At the heart of what we do lies a deep wish for unity. As part of the universal flow of ideals and emotions, we aim to connect makers with keepers, and bring the human being back at the center of our social fabric. The human-artisan transmuting the raw material into polished object gives us an elevated experience each time we come in contact with that object. And that is what we are after.

What we believe in

We celebrate diversity and believe communities are the cornerstone of a harmonious world order. We stand for fair trade as a means to help communities thrive and for sustainable practices as a way to ensure respect for the environment. We believe in a business model that is based on trust and friendship and in the making of a better world.

OUR PLEDGE

We strive to bring our clients masterfully executed objects that exalt the soul and the senses through textures, colours and motifs.
Communities and their habitats are important to us and OMAĜO strives to work with artisans dedicated to sustain the life of the communities and environments they live in, paying them a fair price and respecting their rythms. Markings such as in the making or at some point in the future that you will see at times on objects in our shop reflect this rhythm.
